May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As we power through this pandemic, mental health takes on an added urgency because of the emotional, educational and economic challenges people have faced or are facing.
Fortunately, virtual gatherings allow us to access expertise without leaving our homes. Valley Oaks Health is hosting a âCOVID, Suicide and Depressionâ webinar on May 11 at 10 a.m.; it is open to the entire state as part of the organizationâs three-part COVID Care webinar series.
Tuesdayâs webinar will focus on how trends in suicidality have changed during the pandemic. Other topics will include understanding how the pandemic is affecting peopleâs mental health and screening for suicide while maintaining social distance.

Indoor heated Gunite swimming pool at 47 Golden Hill Lane, Shelton.Phil Kohan
The scenic White Hills of Shelton serve as the backdrop for the custom-built red brick colonial contemporary house at 47 Golden Hill Lane.
Inside the 7,389-square-foot house there are two “pool” rooms: a billiard room (which could also be a music room) and an actual room with a pool. At the back of the house, in the cavernous family room/sunroom, there is a large indoor heated Gunite swimming pool and spa. This house, built in 1998, may be the only one in Shelton with such a feature, according to Jennifer Lombard, the listing agent. She described the swimming pool room as having “an elegant rustic feel.”

Jason Holschen and his family are from Alabama. They ve been traveling the past year, and today s destination was the Texas State Capitol. You can see the outside beauty, Holschen said. A lot of what we were thinking about was going in and seeing the inside beauty as well.
