Grand Rapids Chef Wins First Place on a Food Network Game Show Big congrats to one of our own! Executive Chef Jennifer Fillenworth, of Root Farmacy Cafe in East Grand Rapids, took home $10,000 for winning  Supermarket Stakeout on the Food Network. The episode aired last month and Fillenworth appeared on the episode titled Greek, Sweet, and Open Faced Eats. The show puts four chefs head-to-head as they make meals that go along with the theme of each round. The twist, though, they are in the parking lot of a supermarket and each are given $500 to buy groceries off shoppers coming out of the store.

Jennifer Fillenworth, executive chef and dietitian at Root Functional Medicine and a personal chef with her business, Jenny with the Good Eats, competed in an episode on the Food Network’s “Supermarket Stakeout” show Jan. 19 and won the grand prize of $10,000, besting three other contestants from Louisiana, Florida and New Jersey. “Supermarket Stakeout” is a reality show hosted by “Iron Chef” Alex Guarnaschelli, who takes four chefs and puts them into the ultimate culinary battle — in the parking lot of a grocery store. The competitors must stake out groceries from shoppers exiting the store. Each chef must negotiate with shoppers to buy their groceries right on the spot. A Grand Rapids chef is competing for $10K on an upcoming episode of Food Network s Supermarket Stakeout . If you haven t seen the show, frequent Chopped judge and Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli hosts as four chefs battle it out for the best dish in a pop-up kitchen in a grocery store parking lot. The chefs are assigned a theme for each round, and then have negotiate with shoppers exiting the store for their grocery bags. The judges send the chefs with the least successful dishes home, and the last chef standing walks away with a grand prize of $10,000. Fillenworth tells GRBJ that Food Network reached out to her back in 2019, but she was unable to compete due to a serious car accident. She says,
