A special event this Saturday welcomes the Marietta community to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.This year’s Multicultural Festival and Lunar New Year Celebration will take place from 4:00-6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 27, in The Gathering Place. Students, MC employees and community members will be treated with performances that include U.S. World Martial Arts Champion Sen Gao, Angolan & Brazilian Martial Arts by Capoeira, Russian music by St. Nicholas Balakaika Orchestra, demonstrations by the Ohio Valley Taekwondo Academy, and Marietta College students.
Global Connections and Jenni Zhang will host an Asian Cuisine and Tea Ceremony Class from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, at the Multicultural Center (formerly the Arts and Humanities House). Participants will learn how to make Chinese Wontons and Korean Kimbap.
After months of planning, Marietta College is ready to celebrate Lunar New Year and host a Multicultural Festival for students, employees, and the community to enjoy.
