The Turners Falls and Frontier softball teams have had plenty of time to stew over their championship game losses two years ago.
The Thunder blitzed through the Western Mass. Div. 3 tournament, crushed Hopedale in the state semis but fell to Austin Prep in the championship game. The seventh-seeded Redhawks made a run of their own in the Western Mass Div. 2 tourney, reaching the championship game before losing to Hampshire at UMass.
