In a low-scoring affair, host Athol High School came away with key hoops in crunch time en route to a 27-25 victory over Franklin Tech in girls’ action at Mallet Gymnasium. “It was nice to be out there again,” Athol coach Kelly Kaczmarczyk said. “The girls were excited to play and get in a game and it’s always nice to win. Hopefully we can get more [games] in.”

a shocking admission from a fairfax county father. he walked onto a police station with a note confessing to a gruesome murder. good saturday, everyone, i m craig melvin. police say he killed his wife then stuffed her body onto a suitcase. police say he did it all with his 1-year-old son in the house. megan mcgrath has that story today. reporter: jamie cunn behind bars, accused of killing his wife, stuffing the body into a suitcase and putting it on the balcony. i was scared and shocked. just unbelievable. i would never have suspected anything like that around here. she was really a nice person. she s always smiling. she was always with her kid. but she was just a very nice, nice human. reporter: almost as strange as the crime is the way police found out about it. investigators say he walked into police headquarters at around 7:00 in the morning on friday and handed over a note saying he committed a murder. he was taken into custody. police found the body after search
