JAYA: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at the Westlite workers’ dormitory 1 and 2 in Senai, Johor Baru will be lifted today, Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.
The EMCO there was scheduled to end on Jan 29 but according to the Health Ministry (MOH) the cases reported in this locality showed a declining trend.
Ismail Sabri said todate, the Health Ministry has screened 1,978 individuals and out of this, a total of 692 were infected with Covid-19.
“MOH reported that a total of 23 remaining cases will end their isolation period today. Therefore on the advice and risk assessment by MOH, the government agrees to end the EMCO there today,“ he said.
PETALING JAYA: The enhanced MCO at the Westlite 1 and 2 workers dormitories in Senai, Johor have ended ahead of time, following a downward trend in Covid-19 cases there.
Senior Minister (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the enhanced MCO at the dormitories was supposed to end on Jan 29 but was lifted on Saturday (Jan 23) on the advice of the Health Ministry after a risk assessment. The Health Ministry conducted 1,978 tests there and 692 came back positive. A reduction in cases in the area was also reported and there are no more samples waiting to be tested, he said in a statement on Saturday.

(pic) said the two localities in Johor involved Johor Bahru Correctional Centre and Staff Quarters, Batu 19 Jalan Ulu Choh-Pontian, Johor Bahru; as well as the Dewan Arena Segitiga, Taman Desa Sejahtera, Mukim Kota Tinggi, Johor and at the Jelebu Prison and Jelebu Prison Staff Quarters in Negeri Sembilan.
PETALING JAYA: Three areas - one in Negeri Sembilan and two in Johor - will be placed under extended enhanced movement control order (MCO) from Jan 11 to Jan 24, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In his daily statement on the update of the movement control order Saturday (Jan 9), Ismail said that the authorities decided to extend the enhanced MCO at the Jelebu Prison and prison staff living quarters in Negeri Sembilan on the advice of the Health Ministry. The government also agreed to extend the enhanced MCO at the Johor Baru Correctional Centre and its staff living quarters in Jalan Ulu Choh-Pontian and at the Dewan Arena Segitiga in Mukim Kota Tinggi, said Ismail.
