PETALING JAYA: A total 372 individuals were arrested yesterday for flouting the Covid-19 standard operating procedures, with the biggest offenders being individuals who were involved in entertainment activities (105).
Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (
pix) said the other offenders included those who failed to prepare equipment to record customers’ details (95), not wearing face masks (93), not adhering to social distancing (76) and others (three).
All of them were issued compounds.
The Ops Benteng operations meanwhile saw the arrest of 26 illegal immigrants, with nine land vehicles confiscated in the 113 road blocks conducted nationwide.
The government has also decided to extend the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in three areas in Negri Sembilan (two) and Johor Baru.

TAMPIN, Dec 31 ― Police are tracking down a Covid-19 patient who fled Tampin Hospital yesterday.
Tampin district police chief Supt Anuwal Ab Wahab said the patient, who is a 33-year-old man and a former inmate at the Jelebu Prison, with last known address in Petaling Jaya, was found missing at his hospital bed at about 11.45am yesterday.

A Covid-19 patient had fled from a ward in Tampin Hospital, Negeri Sembilan yesterday.
The police are currently tracking down the 33-year-old man, who was a former inmate at the Jelebu Prison.
