First well start with the real news of the day, good news. Cal fire does expect to have the four major north bay wildfires fully contained by tonight. Reporter yeah, and this is a sign that life is slowly returning to something resembling normal. All the students here at Piner High School are back in class this morning. One of the three schools that reopened today finally after the wildfires that devastated the north bay. The scene just before 8 00 this morning, an emotional return to class for students this morning. Lots of hugs and tears. The principal here says at least 80 students lost their homes in the fires. Also seven Staff Members including at least one teacher whose home burned as well. And for students whose homes were destroyed, being back at school feels like the right place to be now. I think its good to finally get back so we can get back in our daily routine, see all our teachers and friends to band together and support one another. All of us kids lost mostly everything

Live from the bay area studios, this is kpix news. Breaking news out of oakland, a large fire that sparked not long ago, ago, the location is making things challenging for firefighters. Good evening and thank you for joining us. Crews in oakland have been battling a fire that spread to the trailers and tempers and it broke out on 98th avenue and just a couple blocks away from interstate 80. And the location was relatively far from the nearest hydrant, so far there are no reports of injury, within the last 15 minutes. Crews have been able to contain most flames.
