By BRENT MARTINSt. Joseph Post Sample ballot/Buchanan County Clerk's office St. Joseph voters face a fairly crowded ballot this primary election and will narrow the field for the April municipal election.Candidates on today's ballot could be elected outright if they receive a majority of the votes cast.Four candidates are on the ballot for mayor: former St. Joseph city councilmember and deputy mayor Gary Wilkinson, retired businessman John Josendale, businessman Gary Lewis, and Community Action Partnership Executive Director Whitney Lanning.Two will advance to the April 5th General Election unless one receives a majority of the votes today.Nine candidates are running for four at-large St. Joseph City Council seats with it likely that only one will be eliminated before the April General Election. The only reason why I'm doing this is because I love the city and I love the citizens," O'Dell says during his time on the KFEQ Hotline. "That's why I'm doing this. There's virtually no money or anything out of this. It's strenuous.
