CHICO, Calif. - Employers across the country are reporting an unexpected problem – no workers to fill job openings.
Restaurants in Chico are no exception to this hurdle businesses are facing.
Danielle Ius, owner of Sin of Cortez in Chico told Action News Now that it has been a challenge finding people to hire for months now.
It s tough, Plummer said. You just keep going, just like every other business down here. It is a day-to-day thing at this point.
Last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom said, I fear it s a little illusory, this notion of herd immunity. Despite that, Gov. Newsom is allowing businesses to fully reopen on June 15.
This had Plummer feeling a little uneasy. It is definitely concerning,” Plummer said. “To say I am not scared about it; I would be lying but I am hoping that doesn t happen. We are going in the right direction. Everyone is getting vaccinated, and I just hope we can keep moving forward.
