As part of its brands’ continued transformations, REGO Restaurant Group – parent company of fast casual sandwich chain Quiznos and regional Mexican chain Taco Del Mar, among other brands – has inked a strategic partnership and development deal with BCubed Manufacturing LLC, a Michigan-based manufacturing company that makes high quality, fully outfitted free-standing drive-thru restaurants.

ALPENA–Glik’s has been a staple store at the Alpena Mall for two decades, but a move to downtown is imminent.
The store’s new home at the Harborside Center-Shopping Mall is under renovation. While that is ongoing, the mall store will remain open until it is time for the transition to the new location.
Glik’s co-owner Jeff Glik said Thursday that the store’s time at the mall helped establish the brand in Alpena that his great-grandfather started in 1897.

It could be easy to miss in individual stories reported in between the doom and gloom of the coronavirus or what’s happening in Washington, but many, many exciting things are on the horizon in the Alpena area.
In a recent update to the Alpena Municipal Council, economic development guru Mike Mahler listed many:

∫ The renovation of Alpena Community College’s Van Lare Hall
∫ Discussion between Alpena Public Schools and Aldi for a grocer at the current site of the school district’s bus garage.
