Fort Smith Times Record
With the recent approval of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, Fort Smith is taking the lead in making all three vaccines available to residents of the River Valley.
Fort Smith held its first vaccine clinic on Feb. 24 and vaccinated more than 500 River Valley residents at the Fort Smith Convention Center.
The Arkansas Department of Health sent Clifford Allen as a liaison with the state and, according to the mayor, this was the best organized clinic he had seen. Allen goes to clinics across the state and told the mayor he usually sees four stations to administer the vaccine whereas the Fort Smith clinic had 10.
