Perry swimmers tie school record at state meet

For the third year in a row, Perry was represented by the Jayettes at the state swim meet in Marshalltown to set a couple of milestones.

North East & Yorkshire Youth Travellers (NEYYTS) at Pennine © Claire Newcombe The first event of the North East & Yorkshire Youth & Junior Travellers Series was held at Pennine SC on Saturday 17 April. The day dawned bright and sunny with light winds. Race Officer Dominic Barnes started on time and set a simple course to let the 26 competitors get used to the lake and the mixed fleet on the start line. The wind filled and died consistently through the race and those at the front end of the fleet used their experience to pick the shifts to make the most of the course. The series runs a coached regatta division and the 10 boats in this benefited from the on-water coaching to help them interpret the wind conditions. Jim Hagedorn’s dangerous and anti-democratic vote to overturn the legally submitted Electoral College votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania, as well as his claims calling into question the integrity and the constitutionality of the 2020 presidential election.   All slates of electors submitted by the states on January 6 had been certified by their respective Republican and Democratic secretaries of state and governors.
