GUWAHATI: A team of Indo-US computational biologists, which has an Assam-born researcher Dr Swarup Roy, have found that one of the most easily accessible homeopathic medicine, Arsenicum Album 30, is a potential homoeopath drug for the global fight against Covid-19.
The researchers said it has been one of the few studies to ascertain the efficacy of homeopathic medicines to treat Covid-19.
The Union ministry of Ayush also advised for Arsenicum Album 30, which is derived from the chemical compound (mother tincture) of arsenic trioxide. The scientists group led by Dr Swarup Roy from Sikkim University, together with Dr Jayanta K Das from John Hopkins University, USA (currently with National Institute of Health (NIH), USA) and Dr Subhadip Chakroborty of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, West Bengal leverage the data science and machine learning to investigate the viral proteins that targets human genes and proteins when virus attacks the body cells.
