On-loan midfielder Darren Currie was left out of the Derby County 16 as the Rams defeated Tony Mowbray s West Brom 1-0 in Monday s Championship play-off final at Wembley. Former loanee Jay McEveley played the full 90 minutes, while Jon Macken, who spent the first half of the season with Town, was an unused sub.
Currie, who has been with the Rams since March, looks unlikely to be offered a permanent deal by the Premiership s newest club and will probably spend the summer looking for another Championship side, with no new deal on offer at Portman Road.
