A police news release said when Moose Jaw Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 800 block of 4th Avenue North East on Friday and learned three people were involved in an altercation.

An Edmonton man faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, following an incident in Moose Jaw.
Yonis Asefaw, 25, was arrested after Moose Jaw Police Service responded to a 911 call Friday in Moose Jaw in the 800 block of 4th Avenue NE.

Members of the MJPS patrol section arrived and, according to a MJPS news release, learned that there had been a physical altercation between two males and one female inside the house. Police say one male fired a handgun at the other male but was not struck. The victim sustained only minor injuries during the physical altercation.

“It’s a big loss,” Bourassa said. “It will be felt.”
Bourassa said the MJPS will be looking to find both a new Victim Services co-ordinator and, hopefully, a new facility dog.
“Through Donna’s initiative, Kane has had a really, really good impact in terms of opening a lot of doors that might not necessarily be open …,” he said. “And we really want to continue that.”
Blondeau who, earlier this month, announced her upcoming retirement started with the MJPS in May 1994, having previously worked with the province’s Aboriginal Court Worker program. She built MJPS’s Victim Services program from the ground up, seeking advice from existing programs in Regina and Saskatoon while tailoring to fit Moose Jaw’s needs.
