VERNON, British Columbia – A new 50-50 joint venture partnership between Tolko Industries Ltd. and Jasper Lumber Co. paves the way for expanding the potential output of Jasper’s sawmill in Jasper, Ala., from 70 million board feet to 200 million board feet of southern pine lumber. The $45 million project includes construction of facilities and installation of new machinery. Plans also call for increased shifting at the mill and the creation of at least 60 jobs. Construction is expected to begin in early 2021. “This joint venture project is an important part of our company growth, and we’re excited to be investing in this mill with Jasper Lumber Company,” said Tolko CEO Brad Thorlakson. “This is our third U.S. lumber partnership and supports our product and geographic diversification”

MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday announced that Jasper Lumber Co. and Canada’s Tolko Industries Ltd. have formed a partnership that will expand lumber production at a Walker County facility through a $45 million project creating at least 60 jobs.
The investment will triple capacity at Jasper Lumber’s existing sawmill and create additional activity for its other subsidiary companies, which will operate under the parent company Jasper Forest Products LLC, a Jasper-Tolko Partnership.
Plans call for the construction of new facilities, the installation of new machinery, and increased shifting at the mill.

Jasper Lumber Co. today announced a partnership with Canada’s Tolko Industries Ltd. which will expand lumber production at its Walker County facility, through a $45 million project projected to create at least 60 jobs.
Plans call for new construction, new machinery and more shifts at the sawmill. Construction should begin in early 2021.
Jasper Lumber COO Roy Beall said the partnership will allow the company to expand its capacity from 70 million board feet to approximately 200 million. The expansion is also expected to create other spin-off jobs.
