The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental reported 49 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Friday in Beaufort County and three in Jasper County.
Beaufort County has had 13,953 total confirmed cases during the pandemic and Jasper County has had 2,018, according to DHEC.
The department has reported 169 total COVID-19 deaths in Beaufort County and 40 in Jasper County.
There were 1,086 new cases and 27 deaths reported statewide Friday. DHEC’s totals for South Carolina during the pandemic are 441,697 cases and 7,528 deaths.
A total of 5,873,834 tests had been conducted in the state as of Sunday, DHEC said.
The department reported the results of 32,875 COVID-19 tests Thursday and the percent positive was 5.1.
DHEC reports 5 Lowcountry coronavirus deaths Thursday

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported Thursday five Lowcountry coronavirus deaths.
The department said three people who were 65 or older died in Beaufort County on Feb. 1, 6 and 7. In Jasper County, DHEC reported the deaths of two people who were 65 or older Jan. 29 and Feb. 8.
Spokesperson Janet Horton said the Beaufort County Coroner s Office has recorded nine coronavirus deaths this month: one each on Feb. 1, 4, 5, 10 and 11, and two each on Feb. 6 and 7.
Horton said the coroner s office has reported 150 COVID-19 deaths during the pandemic. DHEC s death total for Beaufort County is 155.
