1 dead, 1 charged with murder after stabbing in West Lubbock Staff reports One person is dead and another is arrested, charged with murder after a stabbing during a domestic disturbance Friday night in West Lubbock. At 9:13 p.m. Friday, Lubbock Police Officers responded to the Bentwood Apartments, located at 3201 West Loop 289 for a domestic disturbance call, according to a statement from police. Officers arrived and found 36-year-old Jason Miranda with a life-threatening stab wound. Miranda was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. 33-year-old Derek Kimbrough was on scene when officers arrived and indicated he stabbed Miranda. Metro investigators arrested Kimbrough on a murder charge and he was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center where he is being held on a $500,000 bond.

LOZANO/isiphotos.com) on February 7, 2021 Stanford wrestling (5-3, 4-0 pac-12) wrapped up the regular season with two duals in Corvallis on Sunday, finishing with a win against Pac-12 rival Oregon State (4-5, 0-1 Pac-12) 19-16 and a 16-19 loss to Utah Valley (2-2, 0-1 Pac-12).  Most of the Cardinal in lower weight classes went 1-1 in their matches. Sophomore Jackson DiSario won his first match but lost his second, while sophomore Luciano Arroyo won his second match but lost his first. While fourteenth-ranked redshirt freshman Jaden Abas defeated his first opponent, he lost via fall to Utah Valley’s Cameron Hunsaker with 2:16 remaining in his match. The six-point fall ended up being the difference maker in the team’s 16-19 loss against the Wolverines.

The Cardinal’s fortunes took a sudden turn against South Dakota State, losing 23-15. Early momentum in their final dual against Oklahoma also turned sour as the Sooners closed out the team’s weekend with a 21-12 defeat.
