A transparent roof tops a Southwest Portland house for sale at $1,799,950. Natural light shoots through the roof into the two-story living room and onto a white grand piano and black granite floor.
The striking contemporary house is touted as having “rock star aesthetics” by Jason Mendell and Katie Guz of Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty, who represent the seller.
Other dramatic features include curving stairs, contoured walls and towering windows.
The fetching master suite has glass sliding doors that open to the catwalk overlooking the main floor.

The coronavirus will hang over this spring and summer as it did last year, but people are finding breathing room for everyone cooped up at home: They’re looking outside for a place to unwind while still staying put.
They’re clearing away backyard clutter and finding that even a tiny corner of the lawn can be a sanctuary, a beckoning connection to nature.
In some cases, outdoor living is getting the indoor treatment. Weatherproof drapes and curtains add privacy, outdoor rugs warm concrete, and quality lighting delivers mood-setting illumination after sunset to a patio or terrace, front porch or pergola.
