On Thursday, the hit TV show s heroine and main character took notice of Alyssa Bonal s story. Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU,  wrote a heartfelt Instagram post to the young girl. Alyssa, first and most important, I am so relieved and grateful to know that you are safe, Hargitay wrote. And I am so honored to be part of your incredible story. You are one BRAVE, strong and smart young woman. I think the SVU squad might have to add slime to their crimefighting gear! Hargitay also appeared on The Today Show Friday morning and surprised Alyssa during what she thought would be an interview about the ordeal. Hargitay praised Alyssa for her bravery and invited her to become an honorary member of the SVU team.
