To is the napa earthquake, which damaged the schools heating system, and since then they have been conducting repairs on that system, which is naturally cast fed, and as they were going around room to room today checking on that construction and the gas, there was an explosion in the photo lab. There was no students present. In fact, the lab is not being currently used by the school. It is one of the buildings that is furthest from the center of the campus, and as i say, they were walking room to room to check on the gas feed and the heating system when this explosion happened. They are still trying to determine what it was that set off the explosion, but presumably, it was caused by a fault in the gas line. Serious burns to that one district employee. And no students present. No students injured. I understand that they were evacuating the students at first to the student stadium, but im looking at it now and thats cleared, so i think classes have resumed. Thats the latest. All right.

Of the units and the flames spread. The two victims were found inside that unit. Were told the building was a former armory now divided into two structures. One resident said he was in his unit and heard yelling to get out. The whole roof was just on fire. And so everybody on in my unit was able to get out and we got our pets out. And then the firefighters were there really fast. Now the red cross had set up an Emergency Shelter over on broadway. Were told about 30 people were displaced in this fire. And two businesses may have suffered water damage, as well. Firefighters say it does appear to be accidental. The cause of this fire but they are still investigating. On monday an 11th grader collapsed on intrack field over at Leland High School on the other side of san jose. We have video we shot with officers on the scene. It seems students discovered the body around 8 37. That was first period swim class. Students tell me its an outdoor pool here at piedmont hills. Homicide coroners investigators are here but its still undetermined if the death is suspicious or an sdent. Investigators are trying to rule out one or the other. The body was found face down in the swimming suit. I got off the phone with the investigator. All staff has been accounted for. Other than that, he cant confirm who the victim might be. All we know is that it is a male adult. Again, if you have a child who attends piedmont hills high school, you might want to come to the school and pick him or her up because classes because of the fatality are being let out right now.
