New Delhi, March 7 : Aim to double farmers income by 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday suggested them to promote coarse grain to add to their income as well as to provide nutritious food grain.
Prime Minister s suggestion came while thousands of farmers are on indefinite strike for over 100 days against his government seeking withdrawal of three farm laws enacted in September last year during Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Coarse grains refer to cereal grains other than wheat and rice or those used primarily for animal feed or brewing. These grains are warm-season cereals valued for their food, feed and fodder uses in various parts of the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (March 7) will address the ‘Janaushadhi Diwas’ celebrations at 10 AM via video conferencing. Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the 7500th Janaushadhi Kendra at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong during the event, read a press release by Prime Minister’s Office. He will interact with beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana and will also give awards to stakeholders by recognising their excellent work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Janaushadhi Diwas celebrations today, dedicated the 7500th Janaushadhi Kendra at NEIGRIHMS (North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences), Shillong, to the nation. He also said that if all annual savings from the central health schemes are combined, poor and middle-income groups are saving Rs 50,000 crore per year.
