The Free State police have arrested two more suspects linked to the murders of five people, including a mother and her children, in Marakong village in Namahadi in Qwaqwa.
These two arrests come hours after the police nabbed a 21-year-old man, also linked to Saturday s murders where the victims were found burnt and shot.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says amongst those arrested, a farmer was also caught after it was established that he had been transporting the assailants and aiding them from evading arrest. She says the suspects, one a local farmer, were arrested in Harrismith in the early hours of Friday 9 April 2021.

Johannesburg – An 11-month-old baby boy survived a massacre in which a family of five were killed in the Free State.
The baby was hit on the nose with a knobkierie while other victims were shot and burnt inside their homes.
The boy is in a serious condition in hospital.
Police said they received a report that some people had been killed in Marakong village, QwaQwa, on April 4 at around 3am.
Colonel Thandi Mbambo of the Free State said police went to the scene where they found the body of Moliehi Thoabala, 38, with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

A team of police investigators has been appointed to probe the murders of five family members in Namahadi in Qwaqwa in the Free State.
The appointment coincides with the 72-hour activation plan which was deployed by the police following the discovery of the burnt bodies of the victims in Marakong village on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the team will be led by the District Commander of Thabo Mofutsanyana, Major Jan Tsotsetsi. On that fateful day the police discovered the body of a woman lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to her stomach, while the burnt body of a man was found inside a burnt mud house.
