WASHINGTON: Ten of the 32 individuals and entities sanctioned by US President Joe Biden on Thursday for participating in Russia’s alleged cybercrimes are based in Karachi and Lahore, shows an official US statement.
On Thursday, President Biden expelled 10 Russian diplomats and sanctioned almost three dozen individuals and companies in retaliation for a massive cyber-hacking of US federal agencies and interference in the 2020 presidential election.
On Friday, the US Department of the Treasury issued a statement identifying these individuals and entities. The list names some Pakistani individuals as well, including Ahmed, Shahzad (a.k.a. Amin, Shahzad) of Lahore, born 14 Dec 1987, national ID #3420204688179. The list includes several email addresses as well.

KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies continued to take action against the protesters creating law and order situation in the city following the arrest of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.
The police started action against the protesters, sit-ins and miscreants and arrested those involved in disrupting the law and order situation in the city.
In district East, five different FIRs at four different police stations, including Soldier Bazaar, New Town, PIB Colony and Jamshed Quarters, were registered against 30 miscreants, in whch two FIRs were registered under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
According to district Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur, who was also wounded after the protesters pelted the police with stones, the Star Gate area was badly affected in the Malir district. However, a heavy contingent of law enforcers controlled the situation and arrested 16 miscreants and registered a case at the Airport Police Station.
Karachi traffic resumes after two-day blockade

KARACHI: The port city returned to normalcy on Wednesday after two days of protests and road blockades. All roads are open for traffic, the police said.
The Hub River Road in Karachi s Baldia Town is also open for vehicular traffic as protests have ended in the area.
Police said the situation is normal and roads are not blocked anywhere. Additional police personnel are deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
Wehicular traffic in Karachi remained affected in the last two days when the workers of a religious party staged sit-ins across major intersections, causing difficulties to commuters who had to spent hours on roads.
