Five including former cop injured in firing incidents July 27, 2021 Five people, including a retired policeman, were wounded in incidents of firing in the city on Monday. A 60-year-old man, Sharafat Ali, son of Shahjahan, was wounded in Orangi Town. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. SHO Muhammad Riaz said the injured person was a retired policeman and resident of Ittehad Town. He added that Ali was on his way to his in-laws after withdrawing cash from a private bank’s branch in Orangi Town when muggers shot and injured him for offering resistance during cash snatching. The suspects also took his weapon with them. The SHO said police were trying to trace the suspects with the help of CCTV footage. Similarly, a young man, Raheel, 24, son of Abdur Razzak, was shot and injured in a firing incident in New Karachi within the limits of the Bilal Colony police station.
