“I’m so proud of our guys,” Coeur d'Alene senior linebacker Shea Robertson said. “To make it to the state championship was awesome. I would have been happy just making it to the state playoffs after last year, but to go all the way to the state finals is a dream come true. The only thing that would have made the season better is if we had won it.”
“That was quite a game,” Coeur d’Alene coach Shawn Amos said. “There’s a reason I’m gray and bald, or one (reason), anyway. Eagle is a good football team, and we got just enough stops to survive and move on.”
Coeur d’Alene (8-2) will play at Eagle (10-0) next week in a semifinal game. Eagle rallied in the fourth quarter to beat defending state champion Rigby 17-14 on Friday night at home.
