Lowincome families and seniors and individuals that cannot be present because theyre working or unable to be here. One of the main concerns we see daily in our office is definitely Affordable Housing. Even as i speak, there are many of these families that are also applying for a wait list. There is already a shortage of Affordable Housing and the need in the neighborhood is great. Prices in the south of market neighborhood is escalating rapidly. If you look onto craigs list at market rate sro [speaker not understood] at 1700, a large studio is at 22, a twobedroom at 3200. Many of these residents have been living in the south of market neighborhood for over decades and what we do need is Affordable Housing. So, right now were asking you to ensure higher Affordable Housing impact fees for Affordable Housing. That is the need. And even before soma became the place to be, you know, i grew up in the neighborhood since i was 9 years old. So, theres families there that have remained decades.

And i wanted to say i believe western Soma Community plan is such a beautiful example of how seven years of community planning, sometimes these things are really technical and its a lot of times done very top, top to bottom approach. But this was really a grassroots effort and i really want to commend the people who stuck through it for so long and i want to say that as supervisors you guys want to respect the community process. I was on the western soma Planning Task force since 2006. And i want to congratulate and commend jim niko for what a great job he did. As ken said a second ago, i know a lot of people came and left and there ways was a group of local residents who were not happy about what was happening and tried to create disruption, but it wasnt possible. It was left up to western soma to say what was said. So particularly when it comes to entertainment, this is where i think it was left out. And i think we need to protect, preserve and promote live entertainment. We cannot allow to have residential in areas like 11th street, as was said by another person, these people move and know what is going on and at the end of the day come back and [kpraeupb ].
