JAMES TWP, MI A Freeland man found himself in jail after crashing a Jeep into a train in rural Saginaw County.
About 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, Saginaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported crash on railroad tracks crossing Stroebel Road near Dutch Road in James Township, said Undersheriff Mike Gomez.
They arrived to find a red 2005 Jeep Cherokee that had crashed head-on into a train. The Jeep was unoccupied by the time deputies arrived, its driver having fled the scene on foot, Gomez said.
