[applause] guest: thank you all for coming, especially given the weather outside. it is nice to be inside where it is dry as to oppose to outside works wet. one thing i realize, so my first book was about sleep science. and when i went and talked about that book i realize that many people were coming to the talks because there had their own sleep disorder
may be setting the fires. i also asked the fire marshal how far back these fires go when they re talking about the people responsible. they said they re even looking into 2016 to see if any of those fires that may have happened are also connected to the five this week. alyana, do investigators say it appears whoever is steght fires is just randomly looking for cars parked in people s driveways? reporter: it s all part of their investigation that they re not going into. they re being very careful about would they re revealing to us. i believe that whatever they reveal that we re not being told is only something that the suspect or suspects may know. so they re being very careful. obviously all the cars set on fire this week were in driveways, set on fire while people were sleeping. when you re sleeping you re not thinking about that but have an extra eye out, especially in contra costa county. ktvu s paul chambers will have the latest tonight on the 10:00 news. new det
thank you. my name is pam [speaker not understood]. i m the president, board chair of the chinese progressive association and i want to be able to speak in support of campos supervisor campos legislation. i want to be able to speak in terms of the community perspective and as community, people always have access to expressing their views when we have our elected board of trustees. and now we don t have that kind of access any more. and we have a lot to say. and some of the things that we really care about in preserving, not only in terms of the credit classes i ll go back to that in just a moment. but the value of city college to be able to provide education and services that fall under the category of noncredit classes. and i m very concerned that our ability to be able to communicate, the richness and importance of these kinds of courses will be denied us and we will lose them. the second party want to as a community representative to speak of is of the access, afforda
thank you. thank you. next speaker. good afternoon, supervisors. my name is james tracy. i m a city college alumni, proud, went there for many years. city college allowed me to work full time while i put myself through college and allowed know figure out the course of my education because in the early 20s should be no surprise, i like many other people didn t know exactly what i wanted to do. and it gave me high quality top notch education in every single way. every single last program that is shaved from city college is picked up will be eventually picked up by the private sector. the only difference, the private sector is going to produce education with a profit note i have in mind, meaning that people like myself, young people young people that are taking advantage of these different programs will leave with much, much more debt and that is something that everybody left, right and center on this board in the state of california should oppose. we should [speaker not
