UIS public webinar will look at the effects of COVID-19 on youths

A free public webinar Friday will focus on the impact of COVID-19 on youths in Sangamon County. The University of Illinois Springfield Innovation Hub, UIS Center for State Policy and Leadership and the Community Health Roundtable is leading “Impact of COVID-19 on our Youth: Learning, Playing & Socializing” at noon Friday via Zoom. Expert panelists will address the social and emotional strains of COVID-19 on youths and how schools and teachers have adapted to online and hybrid learning. Panelists also will discuss emergent mitigation strategies taking place at home, in school and for extracurricular activities and athletics; share monitoring procedures and discuss how decisions have been made.

Zavien James Dent was delivered at 6:07 a.m., Jan. 3, 2021. The baby boy is the son of Sarah Drew and Tavion Dent of Hornell.

Credit: ITV Channel TV Alderney s new single property tax will see a 3% increase in payments from January, despite a previous promise of no increase. Currently, islanders pay both Tax on Real Property (TRP), set by Guernsey, and Occupiers Rates, set by Alderney. Guernsey s system of TRP is based on a building s size to determine its tax rate. As of January, the Single Property Tax system will allow Alderney s politicians to adjust the rates on businesses and domestic properties themselves. It means Tax on Real Property and Occupiers rates will be combined and billed as a Single Property Tax.
