Police are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple in Mount Hope as a murder-suicide.
They say the man who lived in the home on Mount Hope Road called 911 around 10 a.m. and claimed that a burglary was in progress.
When crews arrived on the scene and entered the home, they say they found 70-year-old Marcia Currie fatally shot in her bed. Her 84-year-old husband, James Claybrook, was found on the floor with a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.
Police say Claybrook made the false burglary call to get police to the home faster.
