WARRENTON — High School OT released its girls softball All-State teams on Thursday and one local standout found herself listed among North Carolina’s best.
Apple had an impressive senior season for Western Alamance, posting 48 RBI, 15 home runs, and a batting average of .595. On the mound, Apple was 23-4 with an ERA of 1.19. She allowed 74 hits and 36 runs, while striking out 352 batters. Western Alamance had an overall record 23-5, and lost to East Lincoln in a three-game series in the state championship. Next season, Apple will play softball for East Carolina.
She has 63 hits while batting .851. Her 70 RBIs are currently third in single-season history and her 18 home runs inside and outside the park are one behind the single-season state record.
