A retired nonprofit executive, Miller agreed to fill the position after the museum s development director Jalessa Slade left for family reasons. Slade had been interim director while the museum board sought a replacement for former director Ashley Jordan, who took a job at Cincinnati’s National Underground Railroad Freedom Center last August.
Miller is an Evansville native who returned to the city in 2017 after retiring from his career in nonprofits in Los Angeles. He served as director of Goodwill Industries of Southern California and worked for nonprofits for employment training and homelessness. We have some great new exhibits, he said of the museum.
