PETALING JAYA: Selangor recorded 464 new Covid-19 cases, marking only the second time the figure has dipped below 500 this year.The only other time it recorded fewer than 500 cases was on March 1 with 453 cases.
On the latest cases in the state, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 368 were from clusters and active close contact screening.
The country recorded a total of 1,280 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, which was the fourth straight day of daily cases dropping below 2,000.
Of the new cases, 1,278 cases were locally transmitted while the remaining two were imported cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said five cases were from prison clusters, namely the Tembok Pengkalan Chepa cluster (two cases), the Jalan Harapan Prison cluster (two cases) and the Jalan Awang cluster (one case).

SIBU: Residents in Sibu district are urged not to speculate about the action that will be taken on two residential flats in Sibu Jaya, Flat H and I, that recorded a high number of Covid-19 positive cases today.
Sarawak Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee said the Sibu division Disaster Management Committee chairman Charles Siaw had asked to hold a meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) to discuss the actions that need to be taken regarding the rise in cases.
“Tomorrow we will meet and see what can be done for the residents in both flats that recorded a high number of cases,” he said during a live-streaming session on his Facebook page today.

PUTRAJAYA: The number of daily COVID-19 positive cases in the country remained below 2,000 for the second straight day, with 1,683 cases reported today, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
A total of 2,506 recoveries were also recorded while there were three fatalities due to the pandemic, taking the death toll to 1,169.
He said the latest developments took the cumulative case count to 313,460, total recoveries to 291,958 and active cases to 20,333.
