Cassville High School seniors Dylan Berndt and Zane Mebruer have been named Soccer Academic All-State. This award is the highest academic honor for soccer players in the state of Missouri. The Missouri Soccer Academic Team is a highly select group of seniors from all four classes who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom during their high school careers. This year, 37 players made the team and had an academic score of 120 or higher which corresponds to an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and an ACT score of 30. Cassville is one of two schools in the state, Barstow being the other, with selections on the last five Academic All-state teams. Recipients from Cassville include: 2018 boys, Andrew Berndt; 2019 girls, Kamryn Jaques; 2019 boys, Eli Herrin; 2020 girls, Alexis Mann; 2020 boys, Dylan Berndt and Zane Mebruer. Lady Wildcats hold high expectations for upcoming season
It has been exactly 655 days since the Cassville girls soccer team has played a match, and the Lady Wildcats are hungry for their first taste of the 2021 season.
Cassville got a couple weeks of preseason practice in the books in 2020 before COVID-19 wiped out the season, and while there was no shortage of disappointment a year ago, there is plenty of anticipation to go around this spring.
