Supreme Court has ordered status quo on the demolition drive that is currently underway in the riot-hit area of Jahangirpuri located in north Delhi. The matter will be heard in the court again tomorrow.
At 10 am this morning, bulldozers rolled into Delhi's Jahangirpuri, in the area where communal clashes broke out on Saturday during a Hanuman Jayanti procession.
The anti-encroachment exercise was ordered after Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta wrote to the mayor, asking him to identify illegal constructions by "rioters" and demolish them.
