Each year, Sheridan Memorial Hospital (SMH) celebrates Nurses Week with several traditions. One of them is presenting awards to outstanding staff: Nurse of the Year and Friend of Nursing. Chief Nursing Officer, Cathy Bealer presented the awards at the ceremony on May 10.

Claudia Todd, one of the organizers for the upcoming Johnson County Skijor Wars event, spoke to the Buffalo City Council at their meeting Tuesday, to update them on liability insurance for the event.
Todd said they have put insurance in place with HUB International through the Buffalo Lions Club, which is the sponsor for the February event.
Todd said they have updated the waiver form and have had discussions with various officials about the layout of the track, beverage service, and other factors concerning the event.
Councilman Dan Hart asked what will happen if there is no snow available for the event, and Jacy Todd explained their options.
