After a previous mistrial, a jury found Jeremy Todd Pettway, 41, guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of 39-year-old Salahud-Din “Sal” Ibn Shabazz.
Salahud-Din Ibn “Sal” Shabazz was shot to death in the doorway of his Newport News home on April 7. A jury convicted mail carrier Tashara Mone Jackson of first-degree murder in the shooting, which stemmed from a dispute she was having with Shabazz's wife.
