Street defeated incumbent Mike Nichols to win the commission seat. You put your trust in me and a message of change. That message can be uncomfortable for some. Be patient, be kind and always be willing to listen to opposing opinions,” Street told his constituents. “I’m sure I will make a few mistakes, but I am resolved to doing one thing: to being an example of integrity and humility you can be proud to call your commissioner.”
Also sworn in were Mayor Greg Brudnicki and Ward 1 Commissioner Jenna Haligas. Both ran unopposed in the April elections.
Reflecting on the past three years that brought Hurricane Michael and the COVID-19 national health crisis, Brudnicki said, “It tested the resiliency … and we’re getting better and better every single day. I am humbled. I am honored to have this job.
