NORTHFIELD The Planning Board met Thursday to continue its public hearing and discuss recent changes to the site plan for one of three proposed dual-use solar arrays planned for Four Star Farms’ property on Pine Meadow Road. The board also set a date, April 28, to deliberate on granting the special permit.
Jackie Firsty of the Boston-based BlueWave Solar said the project developers met with Eversource to review two options for changing an interconnection pole and the access driveway for “Array A,” the largest of the three arrays at roughly 26 acres that would be located across from the Four Star Farms main building.

NORTHFIELD While the Planning Board initially intended to meet April 1 for a potential vote on three proposed dual-use solar arrays off of Pine Meadow Road, the meeting was delayed at the applicant’s request and the public hearing process will continue to discuss potential changes to the site design plan.
Planning Board Chair Stephen Seredynski explained one reason the developer, Boston-based BlueWave Solar, requested a change of date and to continue presenting its plans for the proposed solar project is that the company is waiting on permission from Eversource regarding a new pole placement that may decrease the project’s visual impact on neighboring properties.
