Adding urgency for a push for better security at federal facilities. Courthouse security under fire after someone fired a shot that pierced a window of the federal courthouse in oakland. Were definitely concerned. Reporter agents with the federal Protection Service discovered the bullet during a check of the building. Upon further inspection officials realize it passed through the chambers of u. S. District judge white. It went through a window, struck a microwave before coming to rest at the wall of the jury room. At this point we dont believe that any of the judges were targeted. Reporter instead they believe it was a stay bullet from a shoot out. Still judge white says he hopes the Administrative Offices will step up and protect judges by installing bulletproof or bulletresistant materials. On mechanical failure. Now the Agency Responsible for overseeing Passenger Transport vehicles in california has been found inadequate. They are not adequately ensuring the public is safe. Reporter Margaret A Fernandez says a auditors are not holding the cpuc responsible for the limo fire in any way. They are pointing out the problems that need to be fixed. Among those cited ineffective leadership, lack of formal policies and significant delays in responding to consumer complaints. Once they begin the investigation on average are taking 238 days to complete the investigation. Reporter the cpuc largely agreed with the audit individual findings disagreed on the over arching conclusion it was failing its mission to ensure consumer safety. The fire is contained but firefighters are here. When we first arrived, embers were flying everywhere, the smoke was thick.
