Two Mission Valley athletes have been selected to play in the 7G Foundation Indigenous Bowl in Southern California. Arlee’s Jace Arca and Mission’s Landon Walks Over Ice will be playing in the all-star game for Native athletes.
The 2023 season will go down as one of the best for the Arlee Warriors after an undefeated regular season and a playoff victory. The magical ride, however, ended last Saturday, Nov. 4, after the Warriors fell to Fairview 70-22 in the State Eight-Man Football Quarterfinals.
Finding themselves down 16-8 in the first quarter, the Arlee Warriors dug deep and battled back for a 36-16 State eight-man playoff victory over three-seed Flint Creek on Saturday, Oct. 28, on the Warriors’ home field. Arlee improved to 9-0 on the season and advanced to the State eight-man quarterfinals, where they will host No. 1 East seed Fairview on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m.
What started off as a defensive battle between No. 4-ranked Arlee and No. 5-ranked Valley Christian turned into chaos in the second half as the Warriors scored 22 fourth-quarter points to win 34-25. The two teams played Friday, Oct. 13, at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula.
