Sunset, S.C. – Behind Isabella Rawl’s career-best round, Clemson women’s golf tied for the best round of the day at -7 and currently sits in second place, five shots out of the lead, heading into the final round of the 2024 Clemson Invitational. Vanderbilt, the leader heading into today, finished tied with Clemson for the best score of the second round. Rawl recorded a career-high seven birdies to card a -5 (67) and sit tied for fourth heading into the final round. Annabelle Pancake was the only other Tiger to finish under-par on Saturday, carding a -2 (70) with four birdies to sit tied for seventh. Chloe Holder finished at even par and is tied for 15th, while Melena Barrientos wraps up the scoring portion of Clemson’s lineup tied for 37 (+2). Sydney Roberts was even on the back nine on Saturday, while Katherine Schuster was even on the front nine. Palos Verdes, Calif. – Clemson women’s golf wrapped up the first day of the 2024 Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Saturday, in a tournament that has been completely altered by the threat of severe weather heading towards California. The #15 Tigers played two match-play rounds today, dropping their first match 3-1-1 to #19 San Jose State. Isabella Rawl won her match 2-up, thanks in large part to a birdie on the par-3 15. Annabelle Pancake tied her match, but Melena Barrientos, Sydney Roberts and Chloe Holder each dropped their matches to put the Tigers into the non-winners bracket to face Georgetown in the second round.With the second round of the day suspended due to darkness, the Tigers finished the shortened round with a win, 2-1-2, against the Hoyas. Rawl won her second match of the day at 1&1, while Pancake took a win at 3&2. Barrientos and Holder each ended their match in a tie, while Roberts dropped her match 3&2. Clemson, S.C. Kelley Hester has added another in-state golfer to the Clemson family, as Anderson-native Ivy Schulze signed with the Tigers last week.Schulze was a two-time region champ at nearby T.L. Hanna High School, leading her team to a third place finish in both the Upper State Championship and State Championship and two school-record performances.“Ivy is a local talent with Clemson roots,” said Hester. “She is off the charts smart and an extremely hard worker. We look for Ivy to fit right into our team culture and be a great Tiger!”At Hanna, Schulze was a two-time individual Region Champion and ranked eighth in the state. As a senior, she held a stroke average of 77.6 and was selected to compete in the SCHSL North/South All-Star Tournament. As a junior, Schulze shot a low round of 68 in the SCHSL 5A State Championship, giving her the distinction of being the T.L. Hanna 18-hole record holder.Schulze won multiple scholastic awards at Hanna, including being named to the T.L.
