District attorney and the judges because a judge threw my case out and i have to wait for doj to give me an answer on if theyll take my case. Reporter if you had the commissioner or mayor in front of you and you could ask for one specific change, what would it be . We have to have police accountable. We have to stop telling the parents that its a tragedy. Its not a tragedy that this is happening all over. Every week you turn the tv on, its going on. Retraining these officers is not going to do anything. Body camera, we have everything on video from start to finish and we still cant get an indictment. They could turn them off and on. Who is going to extract these videos . Is it going to be an independent person or the public ageolice a. Reporter i hear other people who say there are valuable, necessary good men and women who protect us. There are good men and women. I cant say all police are bad. That would be impossible. You have some good police. When you have police that are around a
outrage because we are outraged not only that this happened in staten island recently, richmond county, but also that it happened in ferguson, missouri, cleveland, ohio. and in so many other places across this nation. i think it s proper to talk about how outraged we are based on our history here in new york. if we go back to ivan smallwood and so many more but outrage is not enough. protesting is not enough, you say? protesting is not enough. protest without progress is void. but we will talk about our frustrations with the district attorney in staten island, his failure to adequately prosecute this case and the fact that he should be voted out of office. we will talk about our frustration with our current leadership in the police department here in new york city. there are many who believe that bratton is not sufficient to carry on this work. we will talk about our
