The airline was due to restart services at the end of October but today pushed back the date.
Australia s Treasury expects international travel to remain low through to mid-2022 before a gradual recovery in international tourism.
Qantas believes the new assumption would ready the company to take advantage of tourism and trade in a post-coronavirus world. We remain optimistic that additional bubbles will open once Australia s vaccine rollout is complete to countries who, by then, are in a similar position, but it s difficult to predict which ones at this stage, it said in a statement.

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) figures released to RNZ show the people were given border exemptions to enter the country before being granted residency under investor visas.
That was despite hundreds more hopeful offshore investors - estimated to be worth $2 billion - having their own residency applications held up at the border.
With the country s borders closed to foreigners, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) can only process investor residency visas for those already here.

The majority of councillors are supporting a move to formalise a possible change in chambers with a few wanting to open it up to the public if necessary. Ashburton: Whatever it Takes has occasionally been the subject of ridicule in recent times, appearing on a handful of lists of one of the worst town slogans in the country.
It seems the district s community leaders unanimously agree that the district s catchphrase for more than a decade could do with some rejuvenation.

RSPCA Australia is investigating the possible extradition of the woman, after a magistrate found her guilty of 33 offences involving 27 dogs held in filthy conditions, and five horses that were starved.
She is at the centre of one of the longest-running animal welfare cases in South Australia but the RSPCA says she can t be sentenced, or held liable for the cost of caring for her seized animals, unless she returns to Australia.
