officers themselves. one has been dismissed. another one is out there still floating through the court system. are any of your officers or deputies expressing any concern that they themselves are going to be open to any kind of liability if they simply do their job and enforce the law? yes. the officers of arizona have just right to be concerned about this because it s not just the aclu who has dragged me and the 14 other elected sheriffs into court. they are now suing the police chiefs. but also now the obama administration and eric holder has given us another public warning saying a follow-on lawsuit is coming. who is it going to be against? it s going to be against our deputies or the officers in our local communities that either make a mistake or an allegation of racial profiling is made. of course, we know that s going to happen. so, here our own government is dragging us into court, our heros, our protecters at a time when we need help and we need armed soldiers to our border.

constitutional law and the fourth amendment. which safeguards against unlawful search and seizure. so this really is not anything different than what we face on every call that we go on. we have to build that reasonable suspicion and probable cause to effect an arrest with any matter. so, we just don t go out there and because somebody called us to a house and just place somebody under arrest because the caller told us to. we have to do our own investigation, talk to witnesses. talk to other people who may be there. maybe even the suspect, of course. and look at physical evidence and then effect an arrest. and we would do the same thing here because this isn t a federal law, this is a state law. and, of course, with state rights we have the authority to enact this law. and we re charged to enforce it we ll do so professionally. shannon: sheriff, you know, you are well aware of there are multiple lawsuits that have been filed in response to this law, federal government on down. couple
