Former San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro endorsed incumbent Ron Nirenberg to continue leading the city.
Castro, who served as mayor until 2014 when he was tapped to become the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, shared a thread of Twitter endorsements Monday with a link to donate to each of the candidates campaigns. @Ron Nirenberg has been a tireless champion for San Antonio. He s helped families recover from the pandemic, revitalized small businesses, and continued the forward progress of our growing community, he said in the tweet. I hope you will join me in supporting his reelection campaign!

What grade on an A-F scale would you give your district’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Why?
“A” because it followed the CDC protocols, was receptive to the ideas and resources that were made available, implemented strategies and options for reaching all students, provided meals for all students, and its teacher corps has performed well beyond any expectations.
Do you think your district is doing a good job educating its students? Why or why not? What could it be doing better?
I absolutely believe our district is doing a good job. NISD is an extremely large school district that is challenged by such a diverse population that it is difficult to serve all aspects in a first class manner; however, the district to date has made every effort to meet that challenge. In my view, it continues to seek ways to remain one of the best districts in the state. I wish they

The incumbents have long tenures as education administrators, and their expertise and commitment are vital in facing the dual challenges of COVID-19 recovery and district growth. Northside is one of the area’s fastest-growing districts, with an enrollment of more than 106,000 students. Northside voters have passed almost $2.5 billion in construction bonds since 1995.
