A student from Co Meath has been crowned the Best 1st Year Speaker in Ireland, while her sister ranked third.
Phoebe Boyle and her sister Kyla are both students in Colaiste na hInse, and this is another great achievement for the school, which consistantly produces brilliant speakers.
From 500 speakers and in the strangest of circumstances, this year s event took place 10 months later than anticipated.
speech writing and pre-recorded speakers replaced 20-minute preparation and speaking partners, and 80 National Finalists including four Colaiste na hInse. Bettystown Speakers were whittled down to the top eight speakers in Ireland.
