Kpix 5s anne makovec has the very latest from the scene on international boulevard this morning in oakland. Anne. Reporter im here at international at 23rd avenue in oakland. 37 people are out of their homes this morning after this huge fire. It started in this blue building here behind me. Firefighters say it started in the back of the building outside and quickly spread up the walls, blew out the roof and then spread to the White Building next door. 10 Apartment Units total on the upper floor of these buildings, and then there were three businesses on the bottom, a bake shop, hair salon and bookstore. Now, all the 37 people who lived in those apartments got out okay. But their homes are destroyed. And five dogs are missing. The apartment goes all the way to the back.
